About Jon

Jon Alex

I received a Spyderco pocket knife when I turned 14 and since then my love for collecting and reading about knives, blades, and outdoor gears only grew.

Here at WaspKnife, I intend to provide guides to people to help people get the best possible knife.

I write reviews and notoriously popular roundups of knives which helps hundreds and thousands of people online. I also share interesting information about knives.

If you’ve any questions then you can get in touch with me from contact page or you can send me an email on thejonalex@gmail.com

If you’re looking to buy a knife for EDC or for any other activity then you can check my Best pocket knives article.

About Drew

Drew Denton

I’m an independent knife and EDC gear reviewer. My goal is to help you find the best knife to fit your needs and budget.

I’ve been collecting knives for almost two decades now and love helping knife enthusiasts pick their next favorite blade.

Most of my time is spent on the road as a patrol officer for a local police department, but I spend most of my free time researching, collecting, and using my knives!

If you need help or have questions about any of our articles, feel free to reach out any time!

Our Process

We started by sharing our opinions on the site. This gradually grew into a happening community where our reviews were impacting real-world knife purchases. That’s when we decided that a robust, fair and unbiased process was needed to make WaspKnife what it is today.

Over the years, we’ve owned more than a thousand knives and are proud of keeping the best of the best in our collection. Each piece of content published goes through rigorous research, products with everyday-carry tests and crowdsourcing of opinions so that we don’t become a megaphone of our own echo-chambers.

All recommendations made are the same knives we’d choose for ourselves and recommend to our family and friends. When you spend your hard-earned money on our recommendation, we take it as seriously as if our own money were on the line. We buy many knives so that you don’t have to to get your “one”.

Our recommendations are influenced by factors like price point, brand reputation, customer reviews, ratings, availability, value proposition, review history and competition to name a few.

We may receive compensation for our reviews. All opinions are ours alone, we never allow vendors to alter them — ever! We choose which products to feature or not to feature, and we don’t make money by reviewing any inferior products.

If a reader returns their purchase because they’re dissatisfied or the recommendation is bad, we make no affiliate commission. Period. We think that’s an excellent way for independent websites like ours to keep their commitment to serve their readers first. And of course, our writers and editors aren’t aware of any company affiliations we may have.

We want readers to feel confident trusting our recommendations. We don’t want to be biased or lazy. We take immense pride in our work and will always put readers’ interest before ours.

In addition to checking facts ourselves, we encourage readers to fact-check our pieces and share their feedback. Every article takes dozens—sometimes even hundreds—of hours for us to create.. We’ve laid out everything there is to know about each pick in plain English so you can decide for yourself whether they’re right for you.
